My Story
Igniting the flame of simplicity & song… Cassie Rose tells her stories from the heart, for the heart. Weaving tales of life, love, travel & reflection… Oozing honesty & a love for melody & harmony… her soft touch on her guitar paves the way for her soulful voice to take play… extending a hand to all to share & experience her musical & life journey through her songs.
Enchantingly deep, yet sweet & soft… her sound is a musical infusion of flavours… There is a sense of old familiarity, whilst having a freshness that wakes up the senses.
Cassie Rose was born into a bigger than average family, one of 7 who are all very musical… born on the floor in the family bus and living a very simple but highly nourishing life… always surrounded by music… singsongs to her father’s tunes, 4 part harmonies and jams in the lounge room. Singing from the moment she could talk, her love and drive to pursue music grew into something she had no choice but to go with… taking her to University to study music & beyond.
Choosing to fly solo for many years, (& on occasions with the addition of her Brothers ‘Ghost Road’ & sisterly harmonies)… Cassie has in more recent years joined forces with her life and musical partner, Alex McLeod.... Their union evolving into a band with some of her favourite musical friends by her side…. This collaborative journey has taken her music to a new place. Cassie has also spread her wings wide and has been involved in many other recording and live projects as a backing vocalist and session singer.
Her passion for travelling & music have taken Cassie Nationally & Internationally... playing shows & Festivals such as the Adelaide Fringe Festival... & given her the opportunities to share the stage with such Artists as, Lior, James Blundell, Rick Price, Harper, Aurora Jane, Penelope Swales & The Angels... As well as, collaborate, record & tour with Artists such as Rebecca Ireland, Andy Jans-Brown & Cozmic, Laura Targett, Luke Vassella & local Producers… & perform at Nannup Music Festival, Mullum Music Festival & Caloundra Music Festival.
Cassie has spent many years as a Vocal Tutor at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium & teaching from home, imparting her knowledge onto others & sharing her love of music & singing. And many more hours as a Barista amongst the community, sharing the coffee love & keeping the money flowing!
Since the 2014 release of her EP, 'Destiny', & having played secret shows at Mullum Fest & gigs along the East Coast of Australia….. Cassie has embarked on a new journey into motherhood.... shining a new light on her life & music & inspiring many new tales. “Whilst having these moments away from music the musical flame was still burning and in 2017, after starting my ‘Blue Eyed Soul’ project with a 7 piece band, I started on plans to record my Debut Album. So in 2018, whilst being 6 months pregnant with my 2nd baby we went into the Studio to record 8 songs Live in 3 days… and from there the Album was born and so was my son!”
Over a year in the making… the last finishing touches were done in the home Studio and by musical friends in Germany, Melbourne & Locally… & Cassie’s Debut Album ‘Memories Of The Past’ was released to the world on November 1, 2019.
The Album is a collection of songs from the past, all snapshots of Cassie’s journey through music & life thus far, that needed to be let loose into the world before moving onto her latest chapter. A bit Groovy, a bit Souly, a bit Soundscapey… honest reflections with lots of colours & space. “The concept of the Album was to encapsulate ‘Memories Of The Past’ in the Music, Musicianship & Artwork… featuring many of my musical friends that have contributed to my music along the way & creating an Artwork that represented me & my journey through it all. Playing & creating music to me is about connection & collaboration, & I aim to continue to allow my music to grow & evolve in this way!”
In 2014 & 2016 Cassie was a finalist in the NCEIA Dolphin Awards for her songs 'Moving On' & 'Broken Trust', both off her EP. And in 2017 her song 'Feeling Free' featured on the Soundtrack for the Locally made Film, 'Undertow', produced by Peter Spann.
Now with 2 little munchkins in toe, the newest only 18 months, Cassie is ready to get the musical train rolling.... Following the Album Release, Cassie will be doing 2 Launch Shows, one in Lismore where she now resides, & a private Show on her home turf near Port Macquarie.
2020 will be filled with more gigs Locally & along the NSW North & Mid-North Coast, with her band. As well as many Acoustic gigs & a few new projects in the works. So stay tuned!
