About Me

I have been working as a Musician/Performer/Songwriter for 20 years & a Music Tutor for 15 years. Throughout this time I have done shows Nationally & Internationally, at Music Festivals such as Mullum Music Festival, Falls Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, etc, performing under my own name & with various other bands/musicians. I released an EP 'Destiny' in 2014 & an Album 'Memories Of The Past' in 2019. I studied music at Southern Cross University & since have been teaching Vocals & beginner Piano at various music schools such as the Northern Rivers Conservatorium & privately. I have also been involved in a variety of recording projects & hired as a session singer.

I love music & I truly love guiding other Singers/Musicians in their journey of musical discovery. I have taught 6 years olds up to 60+ year olds, absolute beginners to professional musicians. I like to make the learning experience as fun & enjoyable as possible, whilst still gently pushing students to try new things & strive to improve. I tailor goals to each individual, pick repertoire that suits their voice, but also challenges them to sing new styles. I aim to be a mentor for musicians who are new to songwriting & need support & guidance in their creative endeavours.

I will be starting a series of Group Singing/Music classes in 2023 covering a variety of different areas, vocal technique, rhythm & phrasing, singing in harmony & much more. (see below for more details)

Group Singing/music Classes

 

I am running weekly group singing/music classes at Bonny Hills Community Hall on a Monday.

These classes are divided up into age groups:

Little Tots (ages 1-5) (this class will only run if there is enough interest) Music exploration, singing, dancing, playing instruments

Junior (ages 5-10) 4 - 5pm

Teens (ages 11-17) 5 - 6pm

Adults (ages 18 & over) 6.15 - 7.15pm

Class numbers are capped at 15.

 

Junior, Teen & Adult students will learn:

Vocal techniques, breathing exercises, music reading skills, rhythm & phrasing, pitch & tone production, how to sing in a group, how to sing in harmony & much more.

I put on a concert at the end of each Semester to showcase what the students have acheived. It's a great night for family & friends to come & witness, as well a great experience for the students to perform in front of an audience.

 

Fees

$16 for a 1 hour classes weekly, paid upfront on registration.

(our Term is 8 weeks, usually starting in week 2 & ending in week 9)

              Individual Private Lessons

              I have a new teaching studio at 92 Long Point Drive, Lake Cathie. This is where I will conducting my face to face lessons.
